Assalamu ‘alaikum,
I was going to make my first post an introduction, but for those of you who know me, not only is it unnecessary and redundant, but I don’t know if I want that kind of information on the net anyway. I’m pretty protective of my identity online, so why go about giving away personal details that may enable someone to find me if I want to remain hidden? Besides, those who will be reading my blog (I don’t expect there to be many) already know all that stuff or don’t care anyway.
I debated a long time about whether or not to get a blog, but I finally decided I wanted to try it. Part of the reason I delayed so long is that I’ve heard it’s haram or at least unneccessary, another part of the reason is that I was afraid that I would get all nafs-y and too into myself if I’m telling the world all about me and what *I* think and what *I* do, and so on, and who am I anyway? Who is going to care? Another reason was that many other sisters have excellent blogs that I’m sure will have much better content than mine; and I don’t take criticism well, so I don’t know how I will handle those negative comments people leave, especially about Islam/Muslims (which I know I can delete, but still, to have to read them first might be upsetting). Despite all these things, I wanted to try, so I’ll do it for a while and see how it goes. Thanks for visiting!
