Assalamu alaikum,
Today I deleted the first comment that informed me they were going to link me on their site. This site is some crazy site that I’m not even going to talk about (I wouldn’t know how to begin to explain it and I really didn’t get the point or message–here’s a tip: your point, if you have one, should be near the top of the page and clear to see) and it has some garbage about Islam on it. I saw links to some of my fellow blogging sisters there too.
You know what? Go ahead! If you want to link me, that’s great. The more traffic I get, the more people get to hear from an intelligent, Western, female Muslim convert. The more people will be exposed to a real-life, everyday person practicing Islam who is not crazy. The more people who will learn about the beautiful religion of Islam and be warned that God is the Truth and there is no Power or Might save Him!
I just cannot believe how people waste their time hating other people, other faiths. They wish we (and Islam) would just go away. You will not succeed. You cannot. God will Protect His Religion. Why don’t people just mind their own business?
So, if you want to link to me, go ahead. I am not afraid of questions or comments from non-Muslims or even hateful attacks. I have a delete button, after all. And I know everyone will have to answer to a Higher Power one day, so no matter what you do to me in this life, I know God will take care of it in the end. You know what they say, what goes around comes around. And, as was pointed out so eloquently on this particular site, Jesus (alayhi salam) made the same point: He basically said to rejoice when you are attacked for adhering to the Truth, because there will be a Great Reward in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Truly there are Signs for those Who Reflect. (Qur’an, many places)
Wassalam,
Callista

Assalaamu Alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,
Ahhhh……isn’t the delete button wonderful? hehe.
I have been linked to some pretty far out there sites too. I have the same attitude though. Maybe through being linked there they can come to my site and see the true side of Islam.
To the second commenter:
This is not a debate forum. I will field genuine questions about Islam. But I will not post remarks that make assumptions about my morality (?!), that disrespect God or His Prophets (upon whom be peace), or dishonor religion in general. You are free to believe or not believe whatever you wish. But this particular blog is intended to mainly attract and serve Muslimahs who are interested in beauty in their characters, lives, relationship with their Creator, and persons. I welcome visitors from all walks of life, world views and religions (or lack thereof)–I love reaching out and sharing in common interests. But this is not a place where I will debate or justify my choice of lifestyle or tolerate negativity or conflict in this regard. Everyone is free to get a blog of their own and pontificate on their views to their heart’s content. Thanks for understanding.
Assalamu alaikum Sis,

Yeah, their sites were interesting. I’m not gonna link anyone here who has a bone to pick with Muslims or Islam or God or His Prophets (alayhim salam) or religion (anyone’s faith). I don’t have a problem with Jews or Christians; Hindus or Buddhists or Wiccans or atheists. It’s all the same to me, whether you believe or not or what you believe in. As long as someone is a nice person I love to chat. Despite the commonly held belief to the contrary, Muslims don’t (or shouldn’t) hate people of other religions. My family has members who are Jewish, Catholic, Protestant and atheist. Do I hate them? Of course not. Let’s be rational. So why do people of those very faiths (or no faith) hate me and my brothers and sisters? Why the hate? Can’t we all just get along? Okay, this is turning into a post, not a comment.
My point: I’m glad I deleted them. I will continue to do so.
Wassalam,
Maha
Assalamu alaikum Sis,
They hate because you/we espouse the truth. You know when people know something is true deep down in their souls, they can either fight it, accept it, or ignore it. It’s easier to do the second so they go for it. The anonymity of being over the net fuels their rage all the more.
The way I see it, their hating us is part of our test in this Dunia. Many Muslims have cracked under the pressure and started seeing ‘fault’s in their religion. Especially those who want to be loved by the world and can’t stand the idea of even a fly hating them. Soon they start having doubts and after a while they slip out of the fold. May Allah guide us all aright. Ameen.
I personally love to read blogs of Muslimah’s and I’m liking yours already. I love the sincerity. And for once, I love to read the words of poeple who aren’t to wrapped up with the mundaneness of this Dunia. I love to read from people like me, who though are in other parts of the world live with the same struggles I face. We Muslims are ONE family. And when one is cut the others bleed for him/her.
As Salaamu ALaikum:
Intersting post. The first time I visit your blog. Mash’Alalh keep thr thoughts rolling. Yes, I could not agree more with all the comments that have been stated in reference to people who are either out their sincerely wanting to gain more understanding about this religion or just simply people who are just wasting their time debating right from wrong. When someone has nothing good to say then dont say anything at all.
I will try to drop by from time to time.. Nice blog sis:)
