Salam ‘alaikum,
So I got the following message in my inbox. I felt insulted by the whole thing so I decided to write a rebuttal (follows).
—Hijabii vs bikini—
By Dr. Henry Makow..
On my wall, I have a picture of a Muslim woman shrouded in a Hijab.
Beside it is a picture of an American beauty contestant, wearing nothing [...]

Assalamu ‘alaikum,
Last night I went to my first Dar-ul-Qur’an class in over a year. It’s been months since I opened the Qur’an. At first I was a bit leery, but then as I looked over the familiar surahs and began to read and run the words over my tongue and lips, I was filled with [...]

Assalamu alaikum,
Do you love the Prophet Muhammad (alayhi salatu wassalam) more than you love your parents, your siblings, yourself? It is a goal we should strive for as Muslims.
I am not afraid!

Assalamu alaikum,
Today I deleted the first comment that informed me they were going to link me on their site. This site is some crazy site that I’m not even going to talk about (I wouldn’t know how to begin to explain it and I really didn’t get the point or message–here’s a tip: your point, [...]

Assalamu alaikum,
SubhanAllah. Today, I didn’t have any food cooked for myself to eat except some soup, and I came home really hungry. Remember how I was whining about people giving me food? So ungrateful!! I hope Allah forgives me insha’Allah *sigh*. Anyway, 2 (TWO!!) sisters spontaneously called me up, requesting to bring me food they [...]

Assalamu alaikum,
I’m going to try to do this without gossiping, backbiting or making sweeping general statements insha’Allah. Wish me luck.
What really bothers me? Wasting food.

Assalamu alaikum,
You all know I keep my eyes peeled for anything dealing with beauty as fodder for my (someday insha’Allah!) book. I have a few treats for you:
Imam Zaid Shakir posts about our Beautiful Religion (part one and two); make sure to read them both. Also, Umm Yusuf reminds us what makes a beautiful character [...]

Assalamu ‘alaikum,
If a non-Muslim asks you what the Qur’an says about non-Muslims, or asks if non-Muslims are going to Hell, what do you say?
Why, you tell them that we don’t know about individual people but that the Qur’an indeed does say that non-Muslims are going to Hell. (Roll eyes here.)
Islamic Natural Healing!

Assalamu ‘alaikum,
I LOVE anything to do with nutrition, natural healing, holistic health and preventitive medicine. I have the book Healing with the Medicine of the Prophet [At-Tibb An-Nabi] (sallallahu ‘alayhi wassalam) by Imam Ibn Qayyim Al-Jauziyah (written over 650 years ago), and love books like SuperfoodsRx. I’ll do anything to avoid taking medicine. (Although I [...]
