Salaam ‘alaikum,
Eid mubarak! Most of these items (except the shoes) are approximations of what I already have at home, not the real thing. But they are close enough!

hi Sister,
do you know what’s up with sunnisters.com?
love
Salaam ‘alaikum,
I think she’s off the grid… She just up and left, no explanation. Maybe her time online had come to an end. I wish her the best inshAllah.
Wassalaam,
Callista
nice outfit sister, I’m serious. would like to see you in that,
love
Salams, do you still post?
Salams Laila,
I haven’t posted in a looooong time but I’d like to get back into it… Thanks for checking in.
can I buy your outfit? Serious question.
Sorry marcel,
These clothes are just ones I found online that are similar to the ones I have. I’m sure you can find the basic pieces either online or in stores: a red velvet blazer, a long black wool skirt, a leopard print scarf and some patterned sandals/heels, and a snazzy bag. Good luck! I’m glad you like it.
Hi,
I see that this post was already from 2008. Today I had some time to read all of your blogs. Ho no, lie, I read the half. Tomorrow or sunday I read the other part.
I think you should continue your blog. You are a good writer and through you, people like me start to understand how muslims think.
I was really impressed by your postings on insomnia. Last week I was on a camp site and found out that I also deal with insomnia. And this night I did not sleep at all.
How is your insomnia? Still better?
Please go on with your blog. I am sure people out there love your writings. I don’t care what you write about. Just write about your goldfish.
I am a christian but my english is not good enough to have discussions with you about religion.
love
Dear marcel,
Glad to have you here. Thanks so much for your kind words. You have inspired me to want to start blogging again! I’m glad someone out there is finding my writing useful.
My insomnia has been under control for quite some time now and I really don’t have any answers other than my life is completely different now than it was back when I wrote those posts.
Your English seems fine to me! Thanks for stopping by.

Hi,
Was surprised to read about your innerly Jihad concerning insomnia. We christians call this a time-space-matter armageddon in Gods eternity. It has merely to do with our male/female status which Adam had when he was also Eve in the beginning.
Recommend you to read this article:
http://greater-emmanuel.org/jg/2001/jg_01_08.html
* how did you get your insomnia under control? Last night I slept only at 5 in the morning.
* love, may I call you sister?
Hi marcel,
Jihad just means struggle, in that it’s a struggle for me to get up, especially after a night of insomnia. As humans we always have to struggle to do the right thing. This is true in any faith.
Like I said, I really don’t know what happened to get my insomnia under control. I wrote those posts like 4 years ago, and my life is completely different now, so perhaps I’m better able to deal with the stresses I have now compared to those I had before. I still occasionally go through some times with poor sleep, but perhaps it is due to my environment (temperature, stress at work, etc.). Sorry I don’t really have any answers!
Steve Pavlina has some good reading on sleep and early rising here, that might be of use to you:
How to Wake Up Feeling Totally Alert
How to Become an Early Riser
How to Become an Early Riser – Part II
How to Get Up Right Away When Your Alarm Goes Off
I don’t generally recommend his stuff, but I found these particular articles interesting and helpful. It’s not the usual advice, which I think I’ve read just about everything about. I know these are not related to insomnia but he does deal with forming good sleep habits overall, which may end up helping you. Worth a try!
Good luck on your sleep journey!
